1. Projections Calibrated: 2026 Takes Over

Your rankings just moved. Here’s why.

We just pushed the biggest projections update of the season. Volume projections now run on 75% this season and 25% last season, built from how each team is actually operating right now, not how we thought they would in August.

That shift has consequences:

• Bryce Young and Coker are climbing. The volume is there. Now the question is whether Bryce Young is for real.

• The Bears look nothing like we projected. We had Chicago pegged for more passing volume. Instead, they’ve been a run-heavy team. Is that a function of Caleb being out, or is this the offense's new identity?

• Strength of schedule is now baked in. Who a player faces for the rest of the way influences his projection.

Everything is calibrated, and it reaches beyond this week’s lineup. Lifetime values for dynasty and rest-of-season values for season-long have all shifted.

• This Shipley guy is athletic with great receiving skills. He was a bell cow at Clemson, and with just Dameon Pierce left as touch competition, this is the ultimate 1+1=2 fantasy football start of the season.

⭐New Alpha: Tre’ Harris

• Patrick Surtain II and Ladd McConkey are on the wrong side of questionable for this game. Trade for Harris in dynasty as he has a real path to seizing the Chargers’ WR1 role as the season goes along. The low game total is the only reason to play Harris conservatively in DFS, but dynasty leaguers should look to FLEX Harris this week.

🎯Target Conservation: Oronde Gadsden II

• Gadsden and Harris are the only healthy playmakers left in this Chargers receiving corps. Coming off an eight-target game at Seattle in Week 4, Gadsden showed the Chargers refuse to leave him in to block even against ferocious front sevens. Both Gadsden and Keaton Mitchell will serve as critical outlets for an often-frazzled Herbert this week.

Kyle Monangai dealing with turf toe, status uncertain for Week 5

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Bears running back Kyle Monangai is dealing with a turf toe injury, clouding his availability over the next 1-2 weeks.

Kyle Monangai was a non-participant in Thursday’s practice due to turf toe, putting his status for Week 5 and potentially beyond in doubt. Monangai is reportedly hoping to play through the injury, though the team continues to monitor his condition.

Monangai capitalized on D’Andre Swift‘s fumbling issues in Week 4, rumbling for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries against the Jets. If Monangai misses time, Swift would project as a strong RB1 given the lion’s share of carries he’d likely receive. Roschon Johnson could also factor into the backfield rotation and is worth adding in deeper leagues as a potential beneficiary of Swift’s recent ball-security struggles. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Friday’s practice report to see if Monangai can return to the field ahead of Week 5.

A quarter of the season is down, and the waiver wire already looks like a disaster zone in a lot of leagues. Injuries are mounting, offensive lines are getting shuffled around, and a couple of teams are already playing out the string on their season-long plans.

The good news is that Week 5 gives us some pretty clear signals if you know where to look. There are a couple of total blowout environments, and a couple of games nobody should want their players anywhere near. Let’s get into the calls. (Read more from Matty Kiwoom)

Taking advantage of injuries is the theme of this week (even more than usual).

QUARTERBACK

• Match-up Proof: Tyler Shough

  Saints are dominating the NFL in pass attempts per game (45). Shough is officially match-up proof based on volume and current personnel (no Etienne this week).

• Lock Button: Jacoby Brissett

  If Brissett is somehow on the waiver wire facing Detroit with a 54.5 pt total, find a more competitive league. He is our QB7 this week!

• Desperation Stream: Tyson Bagent

  From last week: “Bagent has Keenum’s arm and Caleb’s legs and is one of the great under-the-radar QB spike week streamer plays of the year.” Also, the Bears primary running backs are banged up, so Bagent will be called upon to win this game.

RUNNING BACK

• Lock Button: Aaron Jones

  That note about Shough above also makes Aaron Jones a projected RB1 for Week 5 as he is an all-purpose back with no touch competition in Minnesota.

• Bell Cow Time: Bhayshul Tuten

  Eagles are officially a run funnel defense, and the explosive Tuten is officially a bell cow back after logging 19 touches in Week 4: 76% RB Opportunity Share.

Takeaway 10: Drake Maye’s Josh Allen Comp Remains Intact

Drake Maye is going to figure it out. He is not Mac Jones.

Look at this week:

Josh Allen: 23-of-33, 253 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Drake Maye: 22-of-37, 269 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT

One guy did it with Romeo Doubs, who is still bad. The other did it with Keon Coleman, who is still bad. Both of these defacto WR1s scored 23 fantasy points in Week 4.

Don’t lose sight of the bigger picture with Maye. He remains on that Josh Allen career trajectory.

Takeaway 9: Colston Loveland Is a Raging Buy Low

Nine more targets. Still no touchdowns.

Loveland posted a 29% Target Share and continues to earn a red-zone target seemingly every week. The touchdowns are coming.

When Caleb Williams comes back, Loveland has a path to becoming the second-best tight end in the sport behind Brock Bowers. Buy before the box scores catch up to the usage.

Takeaway 8: The Chargers Are Broken, and Omarion Hampton is a dynasty buy

The Chargers are 0-4, and they are just not any good right now. Omarion Hampton remains a buy in dynasty. This is still a first-round running back with an all-purpose skill set. The team environment is depressing his value, but that’s exactly why the buying opportunity exists.

Win-now dynasty managers could view Hampton’s 12-point game as a mini sell window. Take advantage.

Takeaway 7: Emmanuel Wilson THE TOP Waiver Pickup of the Week

Fantasy football is a week-to-week sport. Emmanuel Wilson is a strong pickup this week.

Not Keon Coleman.

Wilson has exactly what we should be targeting on waivers: a primary-back skill set on a good team and a good offensive line. Green Bay went up 20-6, and Wilson scored on a reception after seeing zero targets the previous week.

Remember what happened with Ollie Gordon. Jaylen Wright scared people away from aggressively bidding on Gordon. Don’t let Zach Charbonnet or the Joe Mixon signing scare you away from Wilson.

Seattle gets San Francisco, Denver and Kansas City next, and the Seahawks are favored in all three games.

Takeaway 6: Play Grinder Backs Against the Jets

The Jets allowed more than 200 rushing yards in Week 4. DeAndre Swift was a great process play.

Quinshon Judkins is next up vs. NYJ. Fire him up. And fire back up Braelon Allen who just posted a 100% Opportunity Share. Whethe it is Seattle or Cleveland, when the matchup is begging opponents to grind out rushing volume, don’t overthink it.

Takeaway 5: Opportunity Consolidation Is THE BEST Thing

Opportunity consolidation is one of the most powerful forces in fantasy football, and look no further than Carolina in Week 4.

No Jalen Coker. No Xavier Legette. No Jonathon Brooks. No Travor Etienne.

Over his last two games, Chuba Hubbard has an 84% Snap Share with a 55% Route Participation Rate and is producing fantasy RB1 numbers.

Meanwhile, Tetairoa McMillan exploded for 45 fantasy points on 16 targets in Week 4 without Coker.

Takeaway 4: Darius Cooper and Efton Chism Are Where the NFL Is Going

WR4s are making spectacular plays in practice and then doing it in actual NFL games unlike anything we have seen. Darius Cooper looked like Randy Moss and led his team with seven targets. Efton Chism made a game-winning catch with Julian Edelman-like workout metrics. Meanwhile, one-dimensional receivers like Dontayvion Wicks are vulnerable to exactly this type of talent influx.

Antonio Williams is next, and he will have spike weeks when Jayden Daniels returns.

Even though a player like Laquon Treadwell did not quite get there this week, keep streaming WR2/WR3 players in the highest game total contests when you are in a tough spot in very deep leagues.

Takeaway 3: Game Totals Love Reminding Us How Much They Matter

The worst Play of the Week was Bucky Irving. That was a flameout that I saw coming and pushed the button anyway. I played Bucky Irving and Jordan Love together on Sport.fun as a mini game stack. I knew it was suboptimal, but Bucky’s 73.3% Opportunity Share through three weeks made the touchdown equity difficult to ignore. So of course, the RB touchdown went to Gainwell.

On the other side, Green Bay ran the ball 21 times into the teeth of a pass-funnel defense for 86 yards, with a huge chunk coming on one Kaleb Johnson run. Facing Jalon Daniels, the Packers enjoyed the luxury of a run-first approach.

Regardless, playing Irving at home with a 38.5 total was the bad process play of the year. Game environment is that critical.

Takeaway 2: Robust RB Was the Only Way

Twelve running backs drafted between picks 51 and 100 are averaging fewer than 10 fantasy points per game.

Bhayshul Tuten was arguably the last RB before the RB Dead Zone and he posted a season-high 57% Snap Share with a massive 68% Rush Share in Week 4. He is a must-buy given how often Jacksonville projects to play with a lead this year.

Jaylen Warren and Chuba Hubbard are two of the only late-round RBs helping fantasy gamers win match-ups right now. They benefited from injuries, but that’s part of the point: early-round backs give you access to consolidated workloads that are incredibly difficult to find later.

The New England Dead Zone backs have been particularly putrid. Rhamondre Stevenson has played 59% of New England’s snaps over the last two weeks compared with 37% for TreVeyon Henderson. Even more jarring, Stevenson’s Route Participation Rate advantage is 51% to 28%, and he has established himself as the goal-line back. Henderson is looking even bustier than Jadarian Price.

Takeaway 1: Calling the Bottom

This is what we’re always trying to do: get there one week early.

Malik Nabers bottomed out in Week 3. He went from a 77% Route Participation Rate, 29% Target Share and just five air yards in Week 3 to a 91% Route Participation Rate, 24% Target Share and 113 air yards in Week 4. The Result: 23 fantasy points. Nabers is all the way back, and my daughter beat me with Nabers this week.

Buy Xavier Worthy. He caught a 41-yard bomb, while Tyquan Thornton caught a 55-yarder before he himself went down with an injury. Worthy was actually hurt by Rashee Rice’s injury because role redundancy mattered more than target conservation helped him.

Michael Wilson is a neutral buy after commanding a 35% Target Share and continuing to earn red-zone looks.

Carnell Tate is becoming a buy high. Tate owns a 30% Target Share this season. The only comparable rookie wide receivers target shares in recent memory are Malik Nabers, Drake London and Puka Nacua. That’s good company.

The lesson is simple: When elite underlying usage starts flashing, stop waiting for confirmation. Get them on rosters before they start scoring touchdowns.

Cam Skattebo is the engine of the Giants’ offense, with Winston struggling and Tyrone Tracy banished. Skattebo posted close to a 20% target share last week. He should be very active in the passing game again this week as the Giants are staring at a healthy 22.5 implied points vs. Arizona.

📈Spike Week Alert: Xavier Worthy

Big implied total for the Chiefs on the road at Las Vegas. Worthy owns the team’s highest route participation rate (84.5%) and is due to cash in on a long touchdown bomb from Mahomes this week.

🚀Top Play: Darren Waller

Waller was Carolina’s target leader (8) in Week 3 coming off a 2 touchdown performance in Week 2. Jalen Coker is not yet 100%, and Detroit is getting historically dominated by opposing tight ends this year (117 TE receiving yards allowed per game). This is as close to a perfect play as it gets in fantasy football.

ESPN’s Tim McManus reported that Eagles WR DeVonta Smith is expected to miss Week 4 with a hamstring injury.

Tim McManus reported that WR DeVonta Smith has missed practice all week due to a hamstring injury and will likely sit out Week 4 against the Rams. Bo Wulf of PHLY Sports added that Smith could miss extended time, noting, “It could be a two or three week hamstring injury.”

This is a major blow for the Eagles offense, especially with starting TE Dallas Goedert still sidelined by an MCL sprain. QB Jalen Hurts will have to lean heavily on WR Dontayvion Wicks, 1st Round rookie Makai Lemon, and 2025 UDFA Darius Cooper to shoulder the receiving load.   No better week to stream Daniel Jones getting a massive 25.5 implied point total against a pass funnel defense.

• Chalk Stream: Marcus Mariota

  You want passing game exposure to this Washington/Indianapolis game one way or the other. Mariota has even more mobility than Jones at this point in their respective careers, most recently evidenced by Mariota’s five rush attempts in Week 3.

• Desperation Stream: Tyson Bagent

  The 38.5 point total worries me, but the Packers are a giving up 139 rushing yards per game, and Jalon Daniels will often look to check it down to the running back in the flat in his first professional start. The Bucs are crucially at home this week, which makes playing Bucky much more palatable.

Takeaway 10: Jeremiyah Love Is All the Way Back. Buy.

Jeremiyah Love looks all the way back.

This is why we try to call the button on players like Love, Sadiq, and Boutte. You want to get them before they pop because, once the breakout happens, the price is already too high. Look at a player like Jordan Love: once the market catches up, it is too late.

Love is already showing why he was a much better prospect than TreVeyon Henderson and Jadarian Price.

Meanwhile, Rhamondre Stevenson leads the league in fumbles since 2024, averaging one fumble every 40 touches during that span. Through three games, Jadarian Price is averaging one every 16 touches.

That matters for fantasy.

The irony is that Henderson is so bad in pass protection and as a receiver that the Patriots appear willing to stomach the fumbles. Stevenson ran 19 routes to Henderson’s eight on Sunday. Henderson is turning into the worst-case version of Bhayshul Tuten, and both Price and Henderson now have serious risk factors standing between them and ever becoming true NFL bell cows.

Takeaway 9: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Is On a Straight Line to Becoming the Most Valuable Dynasty Asset in PlayerProfiler History

JSN is going to put up 10-128-2 against Washington for 35.36 fantasy points, lifting him to 104.06 points on the season — the fourth-most fantasy points ever through three games.

Meanwhile, Sam Darnold looked fully healthy in his return, throwing for 379 yards and four touchdowns despite two interceptions. The bigger story is that the script has flipped on the game environments in 2026. The Seahawks seemingly played all of 2025 with a lead. This year, they are beating up on Arizona and slugging it out with Washington and New England. Consequently, their pass rate is over 55% this season.

That trend matters.

Seattle’s defense was destined to take a step back after winning a Super Bowl, because they simply cannot pay everyone. The team must throw more this year, and JSN is on an absolutely insane trajectory.

• Process Play: Justin Herbert

  The loss of tight ends David Njoku and Charlie Kolar will force Los Angeles into frequent 11-personnel sets featuring Ladd McConkey. Look for Herbert to lean on his primary weapon as he thrives in shootout game situations.

• DGAF Time: Geno Smith

  This exact matchup is the reason you drafted Geno Smith in superflex. Smith ranks No. 1 in the NFL in deep ball catchable pass rate on PlayerProfiler. Let’s go!

• Desperation Stream: Deshaun Watson

  Watson has been surprisingly usable for fantasy purposes to open the year, and a leaky Carolina secondary presents a mildly exploitable ceiling for superflexers reeling from the Jaxson Dart, Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams injuries.

RUNNING BACK

• Bell Cow Time: Bucky Irving

  Irving is earning a surging workload just as Minnesota’s run defense comes off a brutal Week 2 where they surrendered an efficient 134 rushing yards to Chicago.

• Good Chalk: Chuba Hubbard

  Carolina heads into Cleveland as road favorites, and with Jonathon Brooks officially ruled OUT, Hubbard is locked into high-volume bell cow duties. Start him with maximum confidence.

• Game Script Play: Travis Etienne

Jaxson Dart suffers MCL injury, to wear knee brace upon return

The Giants are bracing for a 2-4 week absence from starting quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Jaxson Dart suffered a left knee injury after absorbing a high-low tackle in the first quarter, ending his night with 3-of-5 passing for 20 yards. The second-year quarterback exited under his own power before Jameis Winston stepped in. Initial reports suggest Dart suffered an MCL sprain, and while X-Rays were negative, he is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday and will likely miss multiple weeks.

After the game, Giants beat reporter Connor Hughes said Dart may have to wear a brace on his knee when he returns to the field in 2-4 weeks. Fantasy managers now face a nervous wait-and-see as we stand by for more information regarding Dart’s recovery timeline. David Lombardi reports rookie RB Kaelon Black was added to the injury report as limited participant Thursday with a groin issue. Black surprised many in Week 1 by playing 43% of snaps, while rushing for 65 yards on 14 attempts and adding a 5-yard reception. Christian McCaffrey praised Black this week in an interview, likening his ability to have the impact for him that David Montgomery had last year on Jahmyr Gibbs and Tyler Allgeier had on Bijan Robinson to keep them fresh.

Black was a big riser after Week 1’s surprising performance and one of the biggest waiver adds of the week. Fantasy football managers will need to keep an eye on tomorrow’s practice report to see Black’s level of participation in order to get a better idea of whether he will be able to play this weekend.

Konami Play: Kyler Murray

Justin Herbert is the smashiest, but the theme of Week 1 is misunderstood quarterbacks on new teams. Start Murray, because the Packers poor run blocking will force Love to drop back and push the pace. Green Bay’s defense features great safety play anchored by all-pro Xavier McKinney, but they lack playmaking corners on the perimeter. Murray will be locking in on Jefferson and Addison and will also pull it down and run at will when plays break down.

Sleeper Pick: Geno Smith

Hear me out on this. I know the Jets are projected for just 17.5 implied points, but I believe Vegas fundamentally does not understand how good this Jets offense will be with a revitalized Geno under center. The Titans have a bottom tier secondary that lacks established playmakers on the backend and frequently surrendering chunk plays when forced into man coverage against dynamic wide receiver corps, and the Jets do in fact have a dynamic receiving corps.

RUNNING BACK

Good Chalk: D’Andre Swift

Swift will likely be enjoying positive game script while facing a bottom tier rush defense (123.3 rush yards allowed per game and 4.4 yard per carry in 2025). Monangai is coming back from a hyperextended knee, and the team will be leaning on Swift, who finished 2025 with a Top-10 Explosive Play Rating on PlayerProfiler. Play him aggressively this week.

Must-start: Rico Dowdle

Dowdle will handle more of the between-the-tackles work, and Week 1 is best-case scenario at home vs. Atlanta. With Cooper Rush potentially under center, the Steelers should enjoy some rare positive game script. Dowdle is well-positioned to make the most of it as the Falcons finished No. 27 in rushing yards allowed per game, surrendering 126.2 yards per game.
