Jared Goff Inks a New Deal
Jared Goff’s career has seen its share of ups and downs, but it looks like he’s found his stride with the Detroit Lions. After being traded from the Rams to the Lions in 2021, many thought Goff's career was nearing its end. And while the Lions definitely started out pretty rough, they were able to turn it around last season and Goff led the Lions to the NFC Championship game and posted one of his best passing seasons with over 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns. In recognition of his performance, the Lions have signed Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension, averaging $53 million per year. This makes him the second highest-paid QB in the league, behind only Joe Burrow.
The contract extension doesn't take effect until 2025, meaning Goff will count just $27.2 million against the cap in 2024. This gives the Lions flexibility to make further moves in free agency. For more details on Goff’s contract, visit PlayerProfiler.com.
