Historic Victory for Detroit Lions in NFC North
In a remarkable turn of events, the Detroit Lions have secured the NFC North title for the first time ever. The last time the Lions clinched their division was way back in 1993, during their NFC Central days. Reflecting on that historic season, the Lions juggled three starting quarterbacks and amassed a total of 2,943 passing yards in the regular season—less than 30 teams have achieved so far through just 15 games in the current NFL landscape. Times sure have changed.
Russell Wilson Shut Down for the Season
Following a humiliating defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots, the Denver Broncos have decided to throw in the towel. Despite still having a mathematical shot at the playoffs, the Broncos have opted to shut down the surprising fantasy football star Russell Wilson for the remainder of the season. This is due to a clause in Wilson that stipulates that if he were to fail a physical this offseason, his 2025 contract would guarantee an additional $37 million. Adding to the drama, rumors are swirling that the Broncos are considering cutting ties with Wilson after the season concludes, resulting in an estimated $85 million in dead cap if they choose to make the move.
Lamar Jackson is now the NFL MVP Frontrunner
After an incredible win against the 49ers on Christmas, Lamar Jackson has emerged as the MVP front runner. With -200 odds on some sports betting platforms, the sportsbooks seem to think it’s an already decided conclusion. Meanwhile Christian McCaffrey is now number two in betting odds, and Josh Allen rises to third. There are still two very important games to play, and a big opportunity for all of these players.
