Brandon Aiyuk has Officially Requested a Trade
The saga continues as San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk continues to fight for a new long-term contract. It is worth mentioning that Aiyuk is represented by the same agent who represented AJ Brown when he was on the Titans. An Aiyuk trade however still seems very unlikely. The 49ers do not need draft capital when they are trying to win a Super Bowl and would have a hard time trading Aiyuk for another player now that the draft is passed. Aiyuk will likely hold out during training camp and perhaps into the season but will eventually come to a deal with the team. This situation is very similar to the Chris Jones contract situation last year.
Jordan Addison Arrested for DUI
Not weeks after teammate Khyree Jackson was killed by a drunk driver, 2nd year receiver Jordan Addison was arrested for drinking while intoxicated after he was found asleep at the wheel. This is Addison’s second driving offense since being drafted and will likely be facing a suspension to start the season. RB Melvin Gordon II was arrested for a DUI before the 2021 season and only received a three-game suspension, so it’s likely Addison faces a similar punishment.
